This month at CSDT
-Pivot-

“Thank you, thank you, thank you again! What an incredible experience for us all to share together. Definitely a highlight of my career as a principal.”
-Shalah Parker, Principal West Middle School

Friday November 1st, our new program Pivot took flight! Providing the opportunity for local school children to see a professional dance performance is one of the hallmarks of Pivot and we had a great audience at The ENT Center for our first student matinee of the season featuring Ballet Hispanico from New York City.

Without a doubt, there was a future Misty Copeland or Baryshnikov in the audience. The collaboration and support of so many dedicated people made this possible. We’d specifically like to thank the Bee Vradenburg Foundation, the INAsMuch Foundation, UCCS Presents, and West Middle School PTA along with our many supporters. Thank you, Colorado Springs!

Our next student matinee will be for Axis Dance Company on February 21st, 2020. Contact us for more information on how your school can attend! If you’d like to help CSDT make this opportunity available to more Colorado Springs students donate here.

Meet Devin Crews

Devin is one of last season’s Esther Geoffrey scholarship recipients. He was chosen for a scholarship in our Jazz division. Recently, Devin wowed an audience of students at West Middle School with an outstanding tap routine! As a part of Pivot, we go into the schools prior to the performance to excite, provide context and educate the student body about the show they will attend and introduce them to the world of dance .

Other performers included Kaley Corinaldi
and professional ballroom couple, Naomi Skee and Styles Grey.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! RSVP HERE.
Our brand new annual fundraiser at The Mining Exchange is sure to be a night to remember. Complete with dance lessons, food & drink, and a fabulous silent auction. If you have a service you’d like to donate to help support our efforts we’d love to hear from you.

In partnership with UCCS Presents Artist Series and the Independence Center, Colorado Springs Dance Theatre will be co-presenting Axis Dance Company.
February 22nd, 2020.
